Ewezo

I've been the president of Ewezo for 2 years now and I love getting to connect with people and share the same experience with others of the same culture!

Ewezo serves as a space for Black students to connect, build community, and access culturally centered programming within University Housing. In this role, I contribute to shaping organizational direction, strengthening leadership pipelines, and creating inclusive programs that celebrate culture and empower student voices.

I recruit and onboard 15–20 new members and five advisors each semester, ensuring smooth transitions and strong engagement from the start. I help manage the organization’s $1,500 semester budget, allocating funds for cultural, educational, and community-building events. I oversee advisor performance, track attendance, and support planning for events that uplift Black student experiences and foster a sense of belonging in the residence hall community. My role also involves guiding executive members, facilitating meetings, and contributing to the long-term development of the organization.

Girl up

As treasurer of Girl Up, I have collaborated with strong women who advocate for the smallest of voices, and being a part of that is something I will treasure for the rest of my life.

Girl Up is an international movement founded by the United Nations Foundation, and our chapter focuses on fostering community, raising awareness, and supporting equity-centered initiatives at UIUC. In this role, I contribute to the operational structure of the organization while helping ensure smooth communication, financial stewardship, and strategic programming.

I manage the chapter’s $2,000 annual budget and maintain clear financial records related to fundraising, event spending, and organizational operations. MMy position also includes overseeing event approvals, managing member intake, and coordinating communication to ensure smooth workflows among the executive board members. Additionally, I assist in preparing SORF funding applications that provide supplemental financial support for large-scale programs and initiatives. TThrough this role, I help keep the organization organized, connected, and prepared for meaningful campus engagement.

Carle Volunteer (OB/GYN)

As a volunteer in the OB/GYN Department at Carle Foundation Hospital, I supported patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical environment while assisting medical staff with daily operations. My role focused on enhancing the patient experience, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, and ensuring that the department functioned smoothly. Through consistent service and hands-on support, I contributed to a compassionate care environment for patients and families navigating sensitive and often emotional healthcare experiences.

NRHH

As an Administrative Chair of the Orange & Blue Illini Chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH), I contribute to recognizing student leadership, organizing service initiatives, and strengthening the residential community at UIUC. NRHH represents the top 1% of student leaders in University Housing, and my role focuses on advancing service, recognition, and leadership development across campus. Through event coordination and collaboration with housing partners, I support meaningful engagement opportunities for residents and student leaders.

I manage the chapter’s annual $5,000 budget, ensuring funds are allocated strategically for service projects, recognition efforts, and leadership programming. I apply for additional funding through the CRFB board and steward over $1,000 worth of service events each year. My responsibilities also include maintaining accurate attendance and engagement records for the chapter’s 20 active members, supporting executive operations, and helping plan and execute service-based initiatives that positively impact both campus and the surrounding community.
